I get phone calls from people saying I called them

everyday I get phone calls from people saying I called them, but im not anywhere near my phone. Sometimes when my phone is ringing from an unknown number I will answer and they will ask "why are you calling me?" when again I wasn't even near my phone. There is no call logs saying that I have called them. did my phone get hacked? how do I stop my number from either being used or being hacked

Phone spammer lowlifes fake a caller ID that is similar to the person called so it will look like a local call. No one is singling you out; your number just happens to be one that was generated at random. Although if you use Facebook your phone number is public information, so your number might have been chosen specifically.

I was getting the same thing a while ago. Only mine were coming via text messages. But, they are fake prank messages. I just stopped responding and blocked their number.
