Midi Time Code issues when slaving Logic Pro X (latest update)

Hello. I'm trying to slave Logic using my Tascam Model 24 or my Roland MV-8800 using MTC. Logic recognizes when MTC messages are being sent, however when I hit play on the master (on either device), the play button in Logic engages but the clock immediately jumps to -8 1 0 0 0 and the tick place holder jumps through random numbers rapidly. The playhead goes back to the -8 1 timepoints and nothing happens. It's like it gets stuck at -8 1 0 0 0 each time. I've tested this with each device separately because there can only be one master at a time, however the result is the same. This leads me to believe that this is a Logic issue.

My reason for doing this is because the Tascam Model 24 doesn't have midi ports - it uses USB and only generates MTC, it can't receive MTC or Midi Clock. I figured if I can slave Logic, then Logic can slave the MV-8800. This issue is really stalling my progress. Any input that can help is greatly appreciated. Thanks a million!

What happens if you set a SMPTE offset in Logic? Logic may be interpeting the incoming code way before the actual song start.

I'd begin by making the SMPTE offset time in Logic 00 at the strat of the number instead of 01.

Also, try not to write 'latest update' in a static forum. If Apple updated the app today your post would be out of date and it would be harder for other people with a similar issue to match criteria. It's actually less typing to write 10.4.8.
