iPad Pro 10.5 Smart Keyboard

I have a Smart Keyboard compatible with iPad Pro 10.5 inc which I bought in December 2017 together with the iPad. Until yesterday, it worked fine but then, it suddenly stopped typing. The iPad sits in the typing position with the keyboard connected but only the native virtual keyboard of the iPad appears on the screen indicating some sort of connection problem or Smart Keyboard malfunction. There isn't any message such as "the device is not supported" etc. I have tried all the solutions including hard reset, and even formatting the iPad but the problem persists. After only 2 years, it's disappointing. I am out of warranty and the only solution seems to be is replacing the keyboard.
