My old iPhone 6s has messages on there that I need to access however, the phone does not turn on. Is there anyway I can get the messages? I don’t recall having an i cloud account.

If you have an Apple ID, you should also have an iCloud account. You get 5 GB off free storage and that is usually enough to backup your iPhone (unless you have LOTS of videos & photos). You can have iCloud backups done automatically. Restoring from a backup that has those messages is the only way to cover them (unless you were using iCloud messages which I assume you weren't).
