I saved a Pages doc some time ago. Forgot the password to open. Is there anyway to reset without knowing current password?

No. Once a password is set, you either checked the box to remember that password in your keychain, or you didn't. Since the document did not automatically unlock when you tried ot open it, then the password is not in your keychain, and it all falls on your memory, or where you stored the password, to unlock that document.

Neither your fellow users here, nor Apple can clear that document password.
