iCloud Nites issue with iPhone 11

when i upgraded to iPhone 11, i lost the ability to access iCloud Notes on phone and am also unable to open shared notes. When I try to open a shared notes, it says I need to “upgrade my iCloud account”. I have tried but nothing happens. what am i missing?

Notes stored in iCloud not accessible on iPhone I have updated to iOS14 and my notes stored in iCloud are no longer accessible on my iPhone. I can access the notes on my MacBook and iCloud.com, so the notes are there. I have deleted the notes app, turned off phone and then re-installed when turned back on. When I go to the notes app in settings, the only option in the Default Account field is On My iPhone, iCloud is missing. When I leave that option blank, and open the app notes, it tells me I need to upgrade but then offers no option to upgrade. I don't understand why iCloud is not an option to select, which is what I need to see my notes stored in the cloud.

Notes not working with iCloud I am trying to set up shared notes using iCloud. Running ios 14 as of two days ago. I have had an iCloud account for ages, but have not tried to use any shared notes features. I believe that I had already upgraded the Notes app as I was able to scan documents, etc. prior to updating to ios14 and turning on iCloud Notes. Notes is turned ON in the menu under Settings >Apple ID etc. > iCloud I am only able to see the "On My iPhone." When i go to Settings>Notes>Accounts it shows iCloud and my old gmail account. It appears that the icloud is enabled, and when I click through i can verify that it is ON. I am able to turn on and off notes using an old gmail account. That will show up in notes. When i log into icloud.com from my PC and click on Notes, I get a popup saying "iCloud Email Needed." I tried deleting the notes app. Had heart palpitations after reloading the app and found that my 100+ notes dating back many years were gone. Still was unable to add icloud notes! I was able to restore a 30 min old icloud backup and retrieve my old notes.

Notes "You cannot connect to server" when attempting to add someone or share note. IOS13 If you are experiencing this problem you are probably out of iCloud storage. Simply upgrade your storage and you can share notes!

Have you tapped Upgrade and then restarted the phone? After upgrading, signed out of iCloud and back in?
