Sold my IPod and buyer can’t log in with her Apple ID on the device

I sold my IPod yesterday (after having reset everything) to a person but she can’t log in on the device with her Apple ID, nor can she make a new one on the device. I already removed the iPod from my devices through settings —> Apple ID. What could be the problem or a solution?
