Student - Apple Music

I verified that I'm a student with Apple. I have a home pod and apple music works well with it. However, I noticed I'm still paying full pop. After I switch subscriptions to student on my phone, I am asked to verify my eligibility. I put in my email and it says I'm already verified. So I verified as edible and paying the amount. There appears to no recourse or, at least, no simple recourse which is inexcusable. Until I get an answer, I have cancelled my subscription. How can I fix this?
