Losing my iphone contacts

In recent days, I have noticed that I am loosing my previously saved iPhone contact both on my cell phone and on i-cloud and don't know the reason. I tried resetting the phone , turning on/off contacts on my setting and even called apple support but no body could fixed it. If you have similar experience and know the solution please share.

iPhone XR, 13

Did you have any corporate email account installed on this device? By default a profile is added and you default account for contacts becomes the email account of your organisation

Contacts are neither stored locally on an iPhone nor in SIM. They are synced to an email account that you had Google, iCloud, AOL, Exchange, Outlook, Yahoo or any Other

  1. How many Contacts account (email client server) you have?
  2. What is your default Contacts Account?
  3. Which email account you are using to store Contacts?

  • See the GIF below for Contacts and Default Account

  • Learn how to add an email account and make it default (Watch the GIF)
  • This example is for Gmail but the process remains same for all Google, iCloud, AOL, Exchange, Outlook, Yahoo or any Other

I had a corporate email account on my iPhone called the outlook exchange but the corporate asked us to switch to outlook365 and use their app instead and no longer allowed us to use iPhone mail app for this purpose so I switched over and deleted the Exchange account about a week ago. I am not sure if the Exchange was my default account or not though. if that's the case how can I retrieve my contacts? outlook and exchange are basically the same but i am using different app.
