It is up to you how easy you make it. Do the correct preparation and you should be ok.
Is your mac running OK, do you have enough free space, if you are having problems with your
mac now, it is better to sort them out first before upgrading.

Longer answer: it depends on what the year model of the Mac Pro is. A Mid-2010 and newer can run Mojave.
