I have an iPhone X. My Words With Friends app is hung up and unresponsive, and I can't quit it -- or open any other apps. I can't even power down the phone and restart it. I can get notifications, but can't use them to open another app. Any ideas?

I can't force the app to close.
Try a forced restart of the phone.
It won't restart. Wondering about letting the battery run down.
Do not let the battery drain completely. That is bad for it. If you have tried a forced restart and it didn’t work, then you need to get an appointment at an Apple Store for help.
That's the plan. The nearest Apple store is an hour away, but there's a Peach Mac in town, so I'm going to try that first.
Actually, it's Simply Mac. And they pressed the up key, down key, then side key, and somehow it worked. Weird.
