Safari passwords lost during latest Mac upgrade
Hi, I'm spitting feathers as yet another Mac upgrade has caused me issues. This time I can't find any way round the issue or anything on a Forum.
The issue? The software update initially caused the MacBook Pro to refuse to start up. After many power on/off attempts, it finally kicked in but said I'd locked myself out and needed to reset my password. There was no other option. New Login password created, which caused yet another round of failing to start, followed by several power on/off and a repeat of the "you've locked yourself out" message, so new password entered again.
Eventually, I get in and everything seems fine until I open up a new window (banking) and the User Id and passwords are blank! I tried other sites that require Id's and passwords and got the same issue. So, all my saved Safari ID's and passwords have been deleted. the only one left is the Hotmail one that I had to enter when reseting my email (both Hotmail and Google required the passwords reentering).
Trash is empty, so I can't restore anything from there and the Keychain folder looks like this.

Renamed 1 is from June 2018
renamed 2 is from 17th Feb @ 10:49 (last time things worked)
login.keychain is today's timestamp
I'm at least 4hrs from the nearest Mac Store and to be honest, previous experiences suggest it would be a wasted journey anyway.
