iphoto download to newer Mac
Is there a way to import photos stored on iPhoto from an older Mac to me new Mac? The new Mac is running Catalina.

No you didn't try it but it's an easy mistake to make. :). You copied over the iPhoto application, whereas I suggest you copy over the iPhoto Library. This is where your photos actually reside, and that's usually in your Pictures Folder. Copy it from there to the same location on the new machine and try open the library with Photos.app

Copy the iPhoto Library from the old machine to the new machine. Then open that with Photos, on the new machine.

I tried that but it wouldn’t open because the new Mac operating system doesn’t support that app—it has something to do with it being a 32 instead of a 64.
