How do I transfer iPhoto pictures from old Mac to my new one where iPhoto isn't supported?

Copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old machine to the same location on the new machine.
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch Photos. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and point at your iPhoto Library. It will do the rest.
