iPad bluetooth searching for “other devices”

After most recent update to IOS 13.1.3, the bluetooth constantly keeps searching for “other devices”. I have a bluetooth keyboard activated, but that is all I have. Therefore, battery now drains rapidly on the Ipad. How to I turn off the searching function of the bluetooth.

Thanks for prompt response but unfortunately I stated my current IOS incorrectly; I am using 13.3.1. So that’s not the answer. This last update drains my iPad battery faster than before. & I thought it might be the constant swirling searching in Bluetooth. I have one device connected but it keeps searching for more.

Are you sure that you’re not experiencing the “fridge light” paradox - where you you open the fridge door to check that the light is off (when, of course, it is always on)?

The iPad Bluetooth page is much the same. Whenever the page is open, it will continuously search for Bluetooth devices that are broadcasting in discovery mode. This is entirely normal; closing the page stops the search, but upon opening the page (like the fridge door) the search will start.

Thanks for taking the time to try to help me. I was already in 13.3.1, but wrongly stated in the earlier post I was at 13.1.3. However, another poster suggested I was experiencing the “refrigerator light syndrome “ ....you know it “seems” always to be on because every time you look at it, it IS on. The solution was actually the auxiliary keyboard itself; the batteries needed to be replaced and as soon as new ones were installed, everything worked again. I thought my iPad was not picking up the Bluetooth signal; my auxiliary keyboard was not sending out a Bluetooth signal because its batteries were dead.
