I can’t download any apps because I deleted the payment option but I don’t understand why I need a payment options for free apps and it just keeps saying verification required every time I try to download any apps.
Unless you see None as a payment option, you need to provide a payment option to use your account regardless of whether you are trying to download free apps. That's how the system works.
