how to change name on AirPods?

I bought a pair of AirPods for my wife for Valentine Day, going through the process setting them up my son name pop up for the AirPods , how can I change this matter.

Pair the AirPods to an iOS device. Put them in your ears. Go to Settings/Bluetooth on the device, tap on the i to the right of the device and you can edit the name.

With you AirPods in, go to your iPhone settings, look under Bluetooth touch the round blue circle to the right of the currently named AirPods - you will see Diconnect, Forget This Device and the 3rd item listed should be Name, touch on it and you now can edit the name of you AirPods to what you would like them to SAY.
