Is this application supported by Apple? I see it in my applications and I’m having trouble with my Mac. ( false shutdown warnings) Should i use this App?
Malwarebytes is not directly supported or endorsed by Apple. But it is one of the very few that is regularly recommended as useful here in the Community.
If you feel it might be causing an issue by all means uninstall or delete it and reevaluate your issue.
In addition to what the previous poster advised, I'd say it's unlikely to be the source of your problems and may even help you figure out what the problems are. If deleting it doesn't resolve your issues, you may want to re-install it (only directly from the malwarebytes.com website!), run it and see if it finds anything. I've never needed any more than the free features.
It is not recommended by Apple nor is it recommended. However if you are paranoid and feel you need third party protection on your Mac it's the one to use.
However Macs are EXTREMELY secure and do not require any third party antivirus, cleaning or other types of "maintenance" applications. For most users, if they keep Mac OS up-to-date and their applicaitons up-to-date this is really all that is required.
I have used Macs for close to 20 years and have never had any malware on my Macs (I've had many) by simply using a little common sense. That being never download something from an unfamiliar site and do not use a torrent to download anything you did not pay for.
