Right speaker sound only with Bluetooth in car

I have found this inquiry all over the web.

The solution everywhere is not helping - it doesn't even apply to what I am experiencing.

I have been using this car/iphone/bluetooth combo for several years without issue - until today.

When I connect the car speakers to my phone via bluetooth, I can only hear the music on the right.

The car stereo speaker settings are where they need to be - balance is in the middle.

In my iphone I checked--

Accessibility> Audio/Visual> Mono Audio: is at off setting.

Balance is in the middle between the right and left.

(this is where the solution was found in every inquiry i found on the web - but it isnt what im dealing with)

The only thing that is different today --

Earlier i was not getting any sound at all while playing music on bluetooth. Everything was in place to be hearing music playing. The track was showing as playing on my iphone and on the car stereo interface. Volume was up in the car system and on my iphone.

I restarted my phone and it still didnt work.

I restarted again and I had sound, but it was only on the right.

Any help here is much appreciated.

Hello JillVee,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. If I understand correctly, you're only hearing audio from the right speaker when you play music from your iPhone in your car. Is that right?

Checking your audio balance was a great start. Just to verify, this only happens when the iPhone is paired with the vehicle, correct? Does audio play as expected from the vehicle stereo otherwise?

To narrow things down a bit, do you have another iOS device available that you could use for testing? Knowing whether the same issue occurs when you pair a different device with your car would be helpful.

Also, if you have another Bluetooth audio device, like headphones or speakers, try playing content from your iPhone to that device; does it work as expected?

Depending on how that goes, you might also make sure you've covered all of the steps below. In particular, unpairing and re-pairing, and updating both your iOS device and your vehicle stereo firmware, could help: If you need help with CarPlay

I hope this helps you.

Take care.
