My mother and I share the same Apple ID but using two separate iPhones. Our text messages and calls are already separated, but we can not seem to separate our Apple Music. Every album/song I download, also downloads to her phone, and vice versa. How can this be fixed ?

There is no way to do this with a shared apple ID.
Separate your apple ID's and use family sharing instead.
Apple ID are made to be personal one per person. There are no real benefits of sharing an apple ID.
