Slideshow with photos and video clips

Hi! If I am creating a slideshow with photos and video clips, is there a way to totally mute the music during the video clip and have it only play behind the photos?

Thanks!

I see, thank you, OT. My video clips are all much too noisy, so I did not notice faint background music.

I am usually creating the slideshow first without a background music track.

If I want a video to play automatically, I save the slideshow as a video and add this video to new GarageBand project. Now I can mix the background music track in GarageBand and fade the backing track in and out when a video is playing. GarageBand offers a lot of sound effects as well, just like iMovie. Then I can save the backing track as an audio file or write it as a new sound track into the video of the slideshow.

I am using it all the time for this, as long as I have to fix the audio of a single clip.

When I drag a video clip into a GarageBand project, the audio appears on a separate track. I can cut it, trim it, apply filters, pan it left or right, and mix it with other tracks and audio clips.

Then I can save the new audio track to the disk or write it back into the video clip.

But to edit the video itself I need iMovie or Final Cut.
