Can’t access photos on my phone

I just updated to iOS 13.3.1 on my iPhone XS. I can see all my photos, but if I try to send one of the older pics to someone I get a message that there was a download error. They all have an exclamation point error in the bottom right corner. Older videos won’t play at all (I see only a screenshot of them and get the same download error) My photos are all backed up to my iCloud. I didn’t have this issue prior to the iOS update.

Hello, MelEll72.

I understand that you are unable to access certain content on your iPhone following a recent update. I want to help make sure you can share your content with your friends and family and am excited to help.

After an update, it isn’t entirely uncommon for content such as your photos to take some time to reindex on the back end. Issues such as what you are experiencing usually resolve after some time. The length of time depends on the size of your photo library and the speed of your Internet connection.

Are you still unable to send these older photos? I would guess that the Photos app is behaving as expected based on when you made this post.

Set up and use iCloud Photos

Best Regards.
