Phone not deleting photos

I have recently purchased an iPhone 11 and it won’t let me delete any photos. I have logged on to iCloud via a browser and managed to do it there although this hasn’t sorted it on my phone.

I’ve read online that the only option is to plug the phone in to a computer and delete through iTunes.

Anyone know a way around this?
