Apple Care Protection Plan with Theft

For starters, warranty and AppleCare are not international. You cannot acquire coverage for the phone outside the US. Any service on the phone can only be had in the USA.

If you were to purchase in the US, any service will not be honored outside the US. Also, AC+ with Theft is offered in a limited number of countries. I'm in Mexico and we don't have that option yet, for example.

You might consider sending the phone back, either getting a refund (have a 14-day no questions asked refund period) or selling it. Finally, when you do acquire an iPhone from your country of residence, AC+ can be acquired during purchase or within the following 60 days after purchase.

Oh, yes. I've run against that barrier both with the iPhones as well as the MacBooks. Online would work only if your payment method were a US-issued credit card, and would be futile if it came to be needed.
