Old apple id, email doesn't exist

HI, i just updated an old iPhone 6 to an iPhone X, and i cant do anything because it keeps asking me to log in to an old apple id which doesn't exist. I did switch it, but some old purchases seem to be there. The challenge is that when i google it it is asking to change the email back to the old one, and then change again to the current. But the OLD email doesn't exist anymore, it was an old work account...

Is there not an easier and quicker way to fix this?

The email address has nothing to do with the Apple ID. You merely use it as a username and a contact method. So, even if you don’t have access to the email you can still sign into the Apple ID if you know the password.

In my opinion, your best option since you’ve got a new Apple ID already is to re-download any apps or other purchases using the new Apple ID. Otherwise you will always be required to enter the old Apple ID info to update apps downloaded with it, or to restore purchases to a device.

An Apple ID is just that-an ID. It looks like an email address, but that’s irrelevant. You can use the old email address as an Apple ID to log in; you can then change it.

If this is just for purchases, it sounds like you created a new Apple ID account rather than just change the email address of the old account. In this case your only option is to delete all purchases made with the old account and re-purchase them. There is no way to transfer purchases between Apple ID accounts.
