I am receiving messages from the (410) area code that are spam and I cant block them because the last digit changes with each message. I have to leave my ringer on for work so it i getting rather old being woke up 3 times a night. How can the entire area code be blocked?

Have you tried going to Settings>Messages>Filter Unknown Senders, and turn that On?
Those are not 410 area code numbers. They are short codes send from an Internet server. You can forward them to 7726 (SPAM) and your carrier may be able to block them, but most likely you will just have to delete them.

And that won’t be an effective option because you will continue getting them on the new number, just like everyone else in the world with any cell phone.
