“Turn passcode off” remains grey

I’ve removed my company email from my iPad (6th gen, iOS 13), yet I cannot turn off the passcode.

Why is this?

Passcode problem I started a internship with the government yesterday and for some reason thought I needed the work email on my personal phone. It automatically made me change my password from 4 numbers and forced me to change it to the 8 characters. It’s not giving me the option to turn off passcode or change it back to 4 numbers. Does this new IPad OS 15.6.1 only offer a 6 digit passcode option for everyone? Does this new IPad OS 15.6.1 only offer a 6 digit passcode option for everyone? I no longer have the option in settings to set a four digit one, my iPad promoted me this morning “you have 59 minutes to change your passcode” with the options “change later” or “change now”… regretfully I selected change now…. And I HAD to make it 6 digits… so I proceeded to finish and then went into setting manually to opt for the 4 digit code to be set again… and now that option is no longer there for me. I did just recently download and install “ Google Device Policy “ to my iPad to gain access to my work data and emails…could this be the reason I no longer have the 4 digit passcode option any more?

Because your company probably put a profile on your device. It’s common for work or school to put profiles on devices to mandate users maintain a certain level of security.
