Should I leave bluetooth on always on my Apple Watch?

I have just bought the apple watch series 5. I am wondering if my bluetooth on watch should always be on? On my iPhone it is always on but I have let bluetooth on on my watch today and in 3 hours it got from 100% to 93% and I did not use it at all. Maybe I have checked the time once or twice. After that I have turned it off and battery for the watch was okay. Thank you in advance.

You need to keep Bluetooth turned on for the Watch to remain connected to your iPhone. As a new Watch, it will need to complete syncing with your iPhone, and will need to index its files. Generally wait 24-48 hours for this to complete then see how long the battery lasts over the entire day, before you start comparisons over a short time period like 3 hours.

  • Low Energy Bluetooth uses the least amount of the tiny battery in the Apple Watch.
  • WiFi uses more battery
  • Cellular uses even more, especially when it is in a low signal strength area, as that will cause the Apple Watch to raise the power output when trying to talk to a cell tower.

You WANT the Apple Watch to be using Bluetooth as much as possible so you will have the longest battery life.
