The metal part of the charger has completely broken off and was stuck in my phone until i was eventually able to get it out.
Is the charger included in the phones 1 Year Limited Warranty as this warranty is still valid?
If so what do I have to do to get a replacement?

It is under warranty, but depending on how it broke it might not be covered under warranty.
But I would advice you to:
Contact Apple for support and service - Apple Support
And they will give you your options.
We’re other users and not Apple folks, and this is really closer to a for-Apple question. Ring up the folks from Apple Support and ask about this. The folks from Apple will know the current policies, and can then make the determination around this; around warranty coverage, whether this might be a manufacturing defect, or maybe indicative of some other problem, for instance.
