Are you referring to groups that appear when you search for a contact in the Messages app? If so, then locate the thread in Messages and delete the group chat by swiping left on the thread. Welcome to Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you'd like to delete a group of contacts from your iPhone. I'd be happy to share information that may help.

If you'd like a specific group of contacts not to appear in your list of contacts, open the Contacts app. Then, tap on Groups in the upper left-hand corner. Tap the check mark beside the group to deselect that group. This will cause that particular group to be hidden in you contacts list; however, those contacts will not be deleted from your iPhone.

To delete a contact, use the steps here: Manage and delete contacts on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. If an entire group is synced from a particular account, turning off Contacts for the account will remove those contacts. The other option is to delete each contact individually.
