Media import not showing files

Video footage in Final Cut Pro is not showing up when connecting compact flash drive so I am unable to import video. Video footage is visible through the Canon utilities app so I know it's there.

Final Cut version is 10.4.8

OSX version 10.15.3

Camera is Canon XF100

This used to work on older versions of FCPX and OSX and was easy to import but now nothing shows up when going to the import section. There used to be a Canon plugin but I can't find that and I thought it was no longer needed?

iMac 21.5", macOS 10.15

Is this in Catalina?

Try granting FCP X “Full Disk Access” in System Preferences->Security & Privacy->Privacy

Thanks I haven't needed to do that before. The files now show up but they are broken up into 5:15 sections, well apart from the 1st file. Any idea? yes it is Catalina.

MXF which breaks them up and when you join them manually there is normally a missing frame. Looks like its ok though as there is the option to import the whole clip as one I just hadn't noticed.

Looking again I see that the 1st file 33:25 and the following 7 files are copies of the 1st file. Same with the 9th file and then the following! Anyway that works so thanks very much.

The 2GB file limit on DOS formatted disc. It's completely mind boggling that camera manufacturers still use this for card formatting. It's beyond ridiculous.
