I want to get a notification from my fire alarm and intrusion alarm on my iPhone even when it’s set to do not disturb. I travel a lot and only want the phone to chirp in an emergency, but in an emergency I want to know. Can I set this up?

If the notice is always sent by SMS from the same number, you can put that number on emergency bypass.
If the notice comes from an application, it's up to the developers of the application to include the feature that will allow you to override DND for that app.
