Right click the selected Song. Then click on <Get Info>, then select the <option> tab. I hope this helps.
How do you go to the "extension" and change it to "M4r" though??????

Hey AsimC,
I just figured it out, you need to sync your ringtone as well in itune for getting the song in ringtone list of your phone.

ri8 click d song n show in windows explorer
Ok I did all of the steps EXCEPT for how do I CHANGE it from M4A to M4R?? I already have the windows explorer open and went to properties also is there and option to change it?
I think your extention might be hidden. Go to control panel - folder option - uncheck hide extension. For now. And then you can change the .m4a to .m4r.
I also do not have the option under advanced labeled create aac version. Is there another option I can be looking for. I tried the other way as well that was listed by clicking on Store and there is no option called create ringtone.
Any Suggestions ?
this or any method like it doesnt work for me, when i highlight the song and click "advanced" the convert option will not light up to allow me to click it, ive tried for hours now..
I don't see a 'create ringtone' option in Store....
It work on my iphone 5:
Open iTunes
Right Click the song
Click on Create AAC version
Click Ok
This will create another track right underneath the original
then go to (if using Itunes in Windows)my Music and then itunes folder - itunes Media - music and rename it to M4R extension. Which will be the Actual Physical Location of that new track (Should be iTunes Media Folder).
Then go back to same itunes folder look for Automatically add to iTunes (drag the M4R music to this folder).
Go back to your ITunes program and drag this to .M4R to Tones
Drag the new M4R into iTunes.
Sync up your iPhone5
It WILL BE in your ringtone.
Enjoy.
angerofbacold's tips are cool, you shouldn't miss it....😎
I dont have ADVANCED on my top menu.
I have an iPhone4 and a MacBook Pro.
............
OK, Ive figured it out that ADVANCED is FILE on my top menu.
I found the ACC, but Im not sure where iTunes Media is in order to locate the original location of the song.
😟
...I found the iTunes Media and the extension in My Music on my computer (Im going thru this in case other arent computer savvy like me)
Now Im stuck, Ive been trying to figure out how to change it to M4r. Can someone guide me to this option?
