The quickest way would be to delete the album (read through this post before deleting the album) and then re-rip it from the CD. Only this time, before you do, go into Edit/Preferences/General>When you insert a CD and make sure the setting is set to Show CD.

That will allow you the opportunity to check the track names before you import the CD.

Try these steps:

  • Put the CD in your drive and wait for it to show up in the Show CD window
  • If the entries are still in Chinese (and my guess is, they will be), click on the Settings icon (the gear wheel, see the screenshot below) ) and select Get Track Names. If you're lucky, you will see a choice of listings to use and you should be able to spot an English one. (If you're unlucky, nothing will happen, but let's hope for the best.)

In the screenshot, I've typed in the two options that appear. You need to select Get Track Names to see the CD Lookup Results if there are any:

As you can see in the shot above, this album has four choices. After the first option proved to be rubbish, I re-ripped the CD using the second option. Unfortunately, Apple don't give us a better view of the text in those entries, so it's a bit of an experiment.

If that doesn't work, you will have to resort to the slow method, of which there are two.

First method - CD still in drive, re-rip the CD:

  • With the CD in the drive, select the CD Info button (near the Settings icon) and overtype the album information in the boxes that appear
  • Now select the first song and click on Edit/Song Info. Overtype the track information to suit you
  • When you complete the first song, click on the "next" arrow at the bottom of that panel to move to track two
  • Repeat the previous steps for each song
  • When you've typed in what you want, click on the Import CD button
  • Because you have imported a new "version" of the CD, the old one is still in your Library. You may wish to delete that one now

Second method - edit each song in your Library:

  • In the Music Library, find the album in question. Using the track numbering, select the first track and click on Edit/Song Info, which brings up the Details pane of that song, where you can overtype the text you want. For now, only correct the information unique to that song. Once you've done that (or even before), you can select and edit all the songs in one go
  • Editing several songs at once can only apply to changing information that applies to every song on the album, such as the album title, the artist and the genre. While you do this, fields such as the song title (and track number) will be blank or greyed out

If you need further explanation about any of these steps, please ask. I've skipped some parts of the explanation for now.
