Catalina issue with Google backup and sync

Anyone else had an issue syncing their Google Backup and Sync app after upgrading to Catalina?

This advice from Google One Support managed to fix the issue:


  1. Go to the Backup & Sync menu on your computer. Click on the 3 dots. Then, select Quit Backup & Sync.
  2. Open Finder. From the menu bar, click Go. Select Go to Folder.
  3.  A small window will open. Copy and paste this exact text into the window: ~/Library/Application Support/Google
  4. Click Go
  5. Delete the Drive folder.
  6. Empty the Drive folder from the Mac's Trash Bin.
  7. To reinstall, download Google Drive from tools.google.com/dlpage/drive


Then setup again, it will compare files and resend everything.
