If you take your iPad to an Apple retail store, they may be able to offer you either a trade-in value for use against purchase of another Apple device - or may offer you credit by way of an Apple Gift Card that can be used at a later date.

Apple also offer a mail-in trade-in program in some regions - although reports appearing here suggest that sometimes disputes can arise as to physical condition, or alleged faults, that can significantly diminish the value of any offered trade-in. As such, trade-in via an Apple Store (i.e., in-person) may be the safer option - as there can be no dispute in the assessment of your iPad after the device has left your possession.
