Converting LaTeX equations

If many equations are written in LaTeX format in a Pages document (between two $ signs), is there a way to choose the entire text and convert them into Pages equations?

If not, is there a way to choose them one by one and then convert them?

I mean: can we highlight "$y=f(x)$" and then convert it to a Pages equation (except without cutting and pasting into the equation environment)?

Also how can we convert Pages equations into LaTeX equations (i mean how to show the LaTeX expressions).

I am a fellow user, and I am informing you that Pages does not support LaTeX equation editing outside of the application's equation editor. If you want the functionality that you describe then use Word, LibreOffice, or MacTeX 2020 when it is released.

You can send the Pages product team feedback from the application menu, but in my opinion, it is futility, and beyond the design scope of the application.

Pages uses an internal program as a helper application that interprets LaTeX or MathML syntax entered into the Pages equation editor, and converts it to MathML format that appears as an embedded equation in the Pages document. One can double-click that document object to see the original LaTeX/MathML syntax that generated it, or for editing purposes, but there is no individual generation of LaTeX equations.

Anything that you enter in Pages equation editor, whether one, or multiple equations must be syntactically correct with the blahtex conversion tool, before it processes all equations in the equation editor window. It is an all or none solution.

Enclosing the LaTeX equation in '$' is unnecessary.

So practically you are saying no! you are saying if you have a document in which equations are written in latex format, you have to copy and paste them in the equation environment one by one. And you have to double-click on equation objects one by one to show the original latex/mathml equation.

It is very inconvenient. Not many people use Pages and you cannot copy and paste a Pages document on the web (while Latex document is much useful). I hope Apple will consider such an option (converting all equation into latex and vice versa) in the future releases.
