REMOVE INFORMATION AFTER THE FACT ON THE APPLE TV

I didn’t remove, erase or sign out of my old Apple TV nor did I remove it from my account yet. I was going to remove it from my account via the website. My question is: I still have the device, do I have to hook the device up again in order to be sure that everything is removed from the device?

Apple TV HD, tvOS 13

You would need to restore the device to factory settings in order to ensure everything is wiped from the device, and that will also reload the latest OS. This is key if you intend to sell the device.

You can either hook it back up to the TV to do it directly or use a USB C cable to connect it to your computer and do it via iTunes (PC, older Mac) or Finder (Mac running OS 10.15)
