I recently switched carriers with my XR Iphone. Now, I cannot call or receive calls. My new carrier is Cellcom. Apple Support has been giving me the run around, and maybe they are right. Any ideas?

Problem Solved. A friend of mine now has the phone, she is Verizon and when i set it up, it set up in a breeze. When Apple Support replaced my original phone, which was a phone unrestricted to all carriers, they sent me a replacement phone restricted to only certain carriers; thus i could not connect to Cellcom. Hours, days and two weeks were literally spent trying to connect to a carrier that for whatever reason, Apple had restricted. It took me less than three hours to set the phone up under Verizon.

Thank you for your response. I did do a restore to factory settings. Afterwards, I was able to see in my settings the Cellcom carrier and its settings, and i am also able to see in iTunes my device and telephone number.

When i open the first page on my phone, I see my carrier in the left top hand corner, but there are no bars indicted in the right corner. I spoken to the carrier and they have looked at the phone but are not able to render any help.

I am just so baffled by this and any input is appreciated.

I did as you suggested. My carrier does not support voice LTE and switching to 3G it still did not work.

Cellcom is the main carrier in my area which is why I am trying so much to connect with them.

My friend took her Version SIM card from her iPhone 11 Pro and insert it into my iPhone and my iPhone worked. She the inserted my Cellcom SIM card into her phone and it worked.

My SIM card works, I am using it now on an iPhone X loaner and it works. It works on every iPhone until I insert into my XR and it will not work.

Thanks

When i orginially purchased the phone from a carrier, Cricket, they locked the phone for a time period even though i paid cash, solely for the reason that is what they do. When i ignorantly purchased it from Cricket, I was not aware nor informed that that is what they do. Kinda upsets me now.

When i switched carriers from Cricket to Cellcom, the carrier, Cricket, had it unlocked, and Apple Support confirms that the phone is unlock. To the best of my knowledge, it is able to be used by every and any carrier.

Thank you for giving this consideration. I worked late into the night last night and finally decided that there has to be someone out there who knows and has a resolution to this problem.

I restored the phone through iTunes on my computer. In my conversation with Apple Support, they stated that the phone is completely unblocked and unlock. There ought to be nothing hindering my phone from working. As i shared, when my friend inserted her Verizion Sim Card into my phone, my phone worked.

Thank you for you consideration and time.

This is really weird. Since your SIM card works in other phones, it would seem that the card is good. And, for your phone to work with other SIM cards would seem that your phone is good too. So, it makes no sense why your phone will not work with your SIM card. I am at a loss as to what to suggest. I guess you need to continue to work with the carrier and Apple on this.

Thank you, KB. This has been an unbelievable frustrating thing. I have been working on this with Apple and the Carrier since February 11, and we have not gotten anywhere. I would have given up some time ago but the carrier is the main carrier in my area and that is the reason for dealing with this. What really bothers me is that I keep thinking that there is maybe something really simple to resolve this and Cellcom and Apple Support are not finding it. I don't know what to think.

But, anyway, Thank you for your thought and for your time and effort. Last night, as i finally gave up trying to figure this out i thought to myself "There has to be some geek out there who knows the problem". Well, This is the first time i have been on this community site, and as i was reading various questions and responses, i must say there are some sharp individuals on site. It was actually enjoyable to read. Again, Thanks
