pdf's vs word docs on Icloud

Whey Pdf's and scanned items show up on Icloud but word documents have to go thru word first

Word documents from where? How are these things getting on iCloud?

What exactly are you doing when the word docs go through word?

Please explain clearly and detail what you are doing, as we cannot see your screen, and cannot know what you are referring to exactly unless you explain

I have created the word doc, saved it to my document file. Open Edge and then I cloud drive and upload the saved file from the documents on my PC. What I get looks like this. It will open but takes awhile. Can I save it another way ?

On your PC? A Windows PC?

What steps exactly are you following to upload it to icloud? Step by step? You open Windows Explorer? Open the icloud Drive Folder there? Drag the file to the folder?

Are you saying you close the word app before uploading the file?

When I create a word document on my PC and then do to Icloud and upload it to my Icloud drive it always opens with the word app first and then opens the doc.
