Mac lag in detecting USB Mouse/Keyboard when using KVM

I use a KVM at home across multiple systems. When I switch between them and eventually back to my Mac (Mac Mini), there is up to 20 second lag in it detecting their is a mouse/keyboard. Is there a setting to tell it how often to scan for devices? Every other system I have (Windows 10, Linux) detects instantly.

I use a KVM switch to switch my Apple Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad, my Magic Trackpad 2, and my monitor between the two computers. Recently, within the past month or so, I noticed that when I switch to my PC and then back to my Mac, the Delay Until Repeat option in the Keyboard settings in the System Preferences gets moved to the next-to-the-longest setting, when I normally keep it on the shortest setting. Every time I switch to my PC and back to my Mac, I have to go in and change that setting in System Preferences. It didn't always do this -- I've had this setup for a bit over a year now, and it's only begun doing in in the past month or so. I'm running MacOS Monterey 12.1 on a 2020 M1 Mac Mini. The keyboard and mouse are *NOT* connected via Bluetooth -- they are plugged in via their charging cables to the USB ports on the KVM switch. I simply do not use their Bluetooth capabilities at all. So, how do I get this thing to remember the Delay Until Repeat setting? It is growing quite tiresome having to change it manually every time I switch. Thanks,

Magic mouse (1) lags singificantly when a USB C hub is connected (mac mini 2018, Mojave 10.14.5) Hello, I have a 2018 Mac Mini, Mojave 10.14.5 and a Magic Mouse 1 (AA batteries). I needed a usb c hub to be able to read SD cards and have more USB 3.0 ports and I decided to buy this hub https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07HK4Z48J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 After 5 or 6 times of connecting/disconnecting, I noticed that every time I connect the hub the mouse lags significantly. As soon as I disconnect it, the mouse goes back to normal. I have no clue why this happens and wanted to ask if anyone has any idea. Also wanted to ask what tech specs do I need in a usb c hub to work properly with my magic mouse and Mojave 10.14.15. Thank you

[mac mini 2018] Wireless mouse pointer lag and jump when insert the USB hub When I insert the USB hub or external hard disk in my Mac Mini 2018, the wireless mouse pointer will be lagged and jump until unplug those Hardware. How to fix this problem?

The short answer to your questions is no, there is no setting to speed the detection of the input devices.

I'm wondering if the keyboard and mouse you are using are Windows PC versions that the Win/Linux machines readily identify.

Do you think the lag might be due to the mini having to identify non-Apple USB devices, something it would normally do at startup?

Have you tried this with Apple keyboard and mouse?
