New iMac with Mojave hanging and restarting

I've had this iMac for less than 3 months and it constantly crashes when using Logic Pro X and Safari. A process called com.apple.photomodel sometimes appears and consumes twice the RAM this computer has (could be the problem).

iMac 21.5", macOS 10.14

You haven't provided much information, please do the following and maybe we can look for some obvious issues.

Please navigate to the Mac App Store or navigate to www.Etrecheck.com and download the free version of EtreCheck. Once you have you downloaded the app and installed it, please run the report and save it. This report will help us get a good idea what has been installed on your system and help us be able to diagnose what may be wrong.

When you have your report, you can attach it when you reply to this message and we can then review it and help you determine what is needed to get your system running well again.

It's associated with your Photos library, probably cataloging facers, objects, etc. Depending on the size of your library it can take a while. Just leave the Mac powered on with Photos off at night so it can work on it all the time.

Since you have the slowest Mac Apple offers, 8 GB memory and a 5400 rpm hard drive, you should limit what you have in your User Launch Items. For one, the Pace privacy software is not needed. The OS is quite safe as it is. Read the following: Effective defenses against malware and other threats - Apple Community.  There is no need for any "cleaning", "optimizing", "speed-up" or anti-virus apps.

Apparently, the Virtual Memory on my iMac isn't being used. It could be because of many reasons, but I believe it is because I turned on TRIM and the computer is trying to save write-cycles to the SSD (because it can get worn out).

The solution at the moment is the following:

  1. Add the Photos application to the Dock.
  2. Open it while pressing Cmd + Opt/Alt
  3. Click on "Repair" to solve the Library corruption problem which leads to the RAM consuming task.
  4. Quit the Photos application.
  5. Remove it from the Dock (Optional).

Now my Macintosh is running very fast!

How is it that you happen to be running Mojave on a three-month old "new iMac", which would have shipped from Apple in that timeframe with Catalina — unless your iMac was purchased from inventory dating before Fall 2019?

In menu : About This Mac panel, click on the operating system version. What does it show?

Note, if you post an EtreCheck report, then the above version request will be answered in the content.

PACE Privacy probably got installed many years ago on a G4 iMac Widescreen from my childhood and migrated slowly until this one (it was part of PACE Anti-Piracy I believe). My iMac actually boots from an SSD, in less time than my Macbook Pro. I'll restart the computer later and let it work because I killed the process now and it is running smooth (although on other forums they say the only solution is to repair the Photos Library, which I don't know the exact procedure). Also, the boot drive is connected via Thunderbolt 3 and pasted with a double-sided tape to the base (I have been using this setup since I got this new iMac with no problems until now).
