Phone number in Phone tab doesn’t match Phone in iMessage

Recently I noticed that I couldn’t send iMessages anymore with my phone number and I found it weird. I go check in my settings and see that I can only send iMessages from two emails because a phone number is trying to activate. It just happens that this number is not my current one. I thought I might find the same thing in the Phone tab in settings; however, I found my regular daily phone number. Why aren’t both matching? This number in iMessages is Chilean (+56) because I went to Chile and changed SIM cards. I am from Ecuador, and the number from my Phone Tab is Ecuadorian (+593). How can I fix it? I’ve logged out of my Apple ID, turned off iMessages, removed and put back in my Ecuadorian SIM card, but the Chilean number remains and Obviously won’t active, so I can’t send messages using my Ecuadorian phone number.

Have you removed the phone number from your Apple ID? You may need to sign out of Messages/FaceTime to be able to remove the number. Allow up to 24 hours for the change to sync.

Thank you for answering.

Using the link you gave me, there was no number in my account; not my Ecuadorian nor the Chilean number. Right now I added the Ecuadorian one to my Apple ID account.

Also, I turned off iMessages/FaceTime from the Settings App. Is that what you meant by signing out from them?

Should I wait 24 hours before turning them back on?
