Changing incorrect number - found wrong number in Settings, then down to Phone

Hello, Can anyone help please?

I recently changed my provider to Virgin but asked for existing number to remain. That appears to have worked.

However, when I make a call from contacts, it says "dial assist" and does not dial out.

I also checked in Settings, under my name and my number is correct there.

But, when in Settings and I scrolled down to Phone, where it says My Number, the original number is showing from the Virgin sim and not my old number. Tried to amend and save it but it reverts to Virgin number again.

Thanks again for your suggestion, but had no luck with new supplier. Phoned Apple support and they eventually suggested resetting the phone. They took control of the phone which was amazing and we went from Settings, to reset, then only reset the wifi. Signed in with our wifi and everything is working as it should be. Didn't lose anything on my phone. Thank goodness it's sorted and thanks for your interest. Happy New Year to you from England.
