iMessage issue: An error occurred during activation. Try again

I can't login to iMessage and/or Facetime on Mac, even though it was working perfectly fine 3 days ago. After the first click on the OK button it doesn’t respond. On the second click it came up with the error message: “An error occurred during activation. Try again“.

I have already researched on the Apple website and various others to attempt to fix the problem, but nothing has worked. Every attempt I made came with the same message.

One of the websites I named was this one: https://www.hawkdive.com/imessage-activation-error-occured-mac/

An Apple website I read but didn’t work was this one: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204408

Regarding Facetime, I kept getting the message: "This account has no reachable email addresses. Please sign into applied.com in order to add one.".

I tried all possible solutions listed on these websites.

It is a real shame not being able to use these apps when they were working completely fine before.

Thank you for your support everyone.

Have someone else attempt to sign in using their Apple ID. If they can successfully sign in and use Messages/FaceTime, it may be your Apple ID. Someone I know had this happen and I was able to sign in using my Apple ID. After a call to Apple Support and then being elevated to a tier 2 support person, it turned out it was a problem with their Apple ID. It took the software engineers 3-4 days to fix the problem. When calling Apple, make sure you tell them it is an Apple ID problem so you don't get charged.

You can also try signing in on another device/computer. There have been a couple of posts where people's device/computer was blocked. You will need to contact Apple for that problem also.

I made a chat session with an Advisor and told them about my problem. They unblocked me because apparently, someone had reported me as spam and the Apple servers disabled my Apple ID. They just sent me verification checks (notification which I had to press confirm and home address), then when I tried logging in again, the error message disappeared and Facetime and iMessages worked as they did before!

Thank you for your assistance!
