Video File Metadata in "Get Info"

How can I use Mac OS to query the dimensions (aka aspect ratio, or resolution) of video files that do not display that information in "Get Info > More Info" dialog, or add these dimensions to the file metadata once discovered? I notice this info is missing for some .mp4, .mkv, and .avi files. so it doesn't seem to be the container that is problematic. Is there a way to edit file metadata natively in MacOS X?

I have the same issue. I believe it's a server issue. I'm running Mac OS 10.11.6 Server but the clients are Mac OS 10.13.6

For old user accounts, I am able to save the MP4 onto the server and the dimensions are there but on new user accounts, that info is not there. The only way I've found to fix this until I find the real fix is to use an account that doesn't have this issue and copy the files with missing data onto my computer, delete the files from the server and then copy the same files back onto the server and the info will appear in Get Info. I've tried propagating permissions but that didn't fix. Have to do more troubleshooting
