Unable to sign in to Apple TV

On my Apple TV I have successfully used Bluetooth with my iPad to setup my new Apple ID on the TV (so in "Settings"=>"Users and Account" I can see my Apple ID against "iCloud", "GameCenter" and "Home Sharing".

But...

When I go to the Apple TV app and try to watch an old episode of Sherlock, it asks me to login. When I enter my Apple ID and password it pauses and then says:


No iTunes store account.

Before using this Apple ID on your Apple TV, you must first login to an iOS device, Mac, or PC to create an iTunes Store Account.


But I'm logged into the iPad and I used it with Bluetooth to set up the Apple TV settings in the first place!

A. Try a New Power Session:

  1. Unplug the Apple TV
  2. Wait for 30 Seconds
  3. Plug it back in


B. Remove Account - Add it Back:

If that does not work, try adding your Apple ID back. Remove your Apple ID from the list, then add it back.


C. Contact Apple Support:

Lastly, contact Apple Support, if this ends up being of no success.
