Google Voice iOS app still working with iOS10?

I have the GV app and iOS 8 on a device. The GV app stopped working in Dec.

I do NOT wish to download/upgrade to iOS10 JUST to see if the GV app works. iOS8 works fine and often the latest iOS is not always the 'Greatest' for an older iDevice.

An update for iOS10 (10.3.4) was released last year AFTER the release of the new GV app so it seems very possible that the Google app will work with 10 as well.

Hoping someone here has iOS10 on a device and uses GV (or can try).

Thanks in advance!

Google Voice on iPhone now requires iOS 11 or higher. If you want to use the app, you'll need a phone capable of running iOS 11 or higher. This is up to google to determine which iOS level their apps will work with. Apple has nothing to do with that.

Thanks Lobsterghost

I had seen the reference to v11 at the Apple page.

As an aside the Apple page for Google Hangouts says iOS10 required - HOWEVER I was able to down load with iOS8. When selecting on my iDevice there was the message "an older version is available".

Hence my curiosity regarding GV for iOS10.

I use Hangouts w/ iOS8 and do not (presently) need the Google Voice app. HOWEVER I read recently that Hangouts will be dropped in June 2020 so would need GV at that time.

Perhaps though iOS8 and 10 are very similar, or at least the early editions of 10 - and maybe iOS11 is a radical departure?
