Solution for Audio / Midi synchronization / sinc issues in Logic X
YO!
So I've been using Logic X with my 2019 Macbook Air and Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6 external audio interface. Everything was working great until a few days ago when I keep getting audio / midi synch errors while playing back and recording. Went online for solutions that basically say check your sample rates in Logic preferences and audio interface settings and make sure they match, try increasing the buffer size, freezing tracks, etc. That info is here:
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204466
I look in the resources monitor in Logic and can see the CPU and disk pull are very low so I would think freezing or bouncing tracks shouldn't be necessary.
Then I see this post here about a solution that has to do with Logic pinging a network and that causing the errors:
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4023119
That was the KEY. So although his solution says something about turning the internet ON or creating a fake service or something if you don't have internet, I found that turning my WiFi OFF solved the problem. Logic runs smooth as butter, so I think Logic making network calls was what was disturbing playback and throwing those errors.
On an aside, I tried running Logic through the onboard audio and there was no problem even with internet on, so there is that. I think I probably just need to get an updated audio interface because this one is from like 2012 or something.
ANYWAY, I hope that helps someone out there! Nothing worse than trying to be creative and your hardware blocks you by stuttering, failing, or whatever.
Happy creating everybody!
