An error occurred during authentication.' on Macbook Air

I have a Macbook Air and an iPhone and they are both using the same apple ID. I'd been using iMessage for quite a while when suddenly my messages stopped delivering.

I try to sign back in on both devices. iPhone is working.

But Imessage says '

I have reset NVRAM and apple ID password, and login again, but it didn't help.

Hello yeeep,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you're having trouble with iMessage activation on your Mac. I'd be happy to share information that may help.

Take a look at the steps here and give those a try: If you can't sign in to your iMessage account or FaceTime on your Mac.

If you're still unable to activate iMessage, test this issue in another user account: How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac.

Take care.
